Big Lift!

The crew of the noon class after a tough WoD!
Why is that people who put themselves through rigours in any field/job/gym are happier & achieve more? Is that because by putting half assed effort you can't get anywhere? CrossFit fits beautifully in that theory.

Front Squat + Split Jerk 1-1-1-1-1, then

With a continuously running clock do one Burpee on the first minute, 2 Burpees on the 2nd minute, 3 on the 3rd... Continue as long as possible. Score is the number of minutes fully completed plus the number of burpees from the incomplete set.

Post loads & scores to comments.

that wod is insane! For anyone who has no idea:

Five rounds for time of:
15 foot L-rope climb, 1 ascent
5 Parallette handstand push-ups
10 Overhead one-legged squats, 45 pound barbell

For the rope climb, begin seated on the ground. For the handstand push-ups, the ears should dip below hand level. For the one-legged squats, alternate legs.

I'll try the HSPU tomorrow & if I can do them - I'll do that entire wod for "fun" next week. The rest I've done - won't be pretty but I'll be able to do it.

Congrats on the lift Sean!

Big Sean with the nasty lift - is that the Dr. in the background swearing???

Front Squat - Split Jerk : 95/1, 135/1, 175/1, 185/1 (f) - really frustrated by this, on Saturdays I do 3 sets of 5 presses with 135 and I can only split jerk 175, WTF :(

Death by Burpees : 13 rounds + 12 (I think, somewhere between 10-12 on the last round, I don't remeber, I blacked out)

Scott - that's me spilling disbelief!

I watched it last night and could not stop laughing at Leo's reaction. It's taken over a year to get that lift! I pulled out my handy dandy Crossfit Seattle Standards to check that off. Lot's of work to do to go from Level 1 "well rounded" to Level 2 "intermediate". It's a grind...

I am watching the standards video... I have "Fran" butterflies!

BTW - Thanks Roxanne it was John's fault. I am always dumb enough to take the "meathead" bait and I typically come up short (see yesterday's WOD). John said it's only 10% more, Leo provided the negative reinforcement and the rest is in the video.

Next up: MU + HSPU + Pistol = RX.

Rolling burpee

March 9, 2010 | Registered CommenterSean A

Control the bar standard has Ramzi all over it.

March 9, 2010 | Registered CommenterSean A

Looks like no muscle ups or snatching this weekend. Rolling burpees look kinda silly though.

There's "distractors" in the video - movements that won't be in the actual event!
