kami and I have replayed Rob's backflip about 10 times. I can't stop watching it. We both have tears in our eyes. Can you somehow make a 30 second loop of his back flip - slow mo, frame by frame - the works
He tried to explain it to me but no words can describe that!!!!
So mad I missed the gymnastics! That looked like so much fun!
if you didn't notice, CFEVO made the CF.com homepage Wednesday WoD
kudos
I clicked play on this video, opened it up to fullscreen, and got ready to laugh really hard, knowing that Ramzi had signed up for the gymnastics class and I was instore for some amazing fails. He completely dissapointed me though. Thank you Rob for giving me what I was hoping for in this video. I played your backflip back at least 5 times, and it was just as awesome each time. Sad I missed this thing, but I'm happy to hear that it'll be a regular event now.
That article was a good read. I think a main issue many people have, which the article stated, is that you are ingrained (pun, maybe...) with the government and "doctor" approved food pyramid from when you are young, so you think anything else can't be wrong.
See everyone at 5.
EDIT: everything else is wrong...
BW 200
Power Clean 165/3 x3

10:00 Rx'ed. A bit grumpy about being 1 sec short of sub-10 but oh well. Beats my goal of sub-15 by a good margin.
Going to finish up my gymnastics later today.
Good day!

after 10 pullups out of 40 ripped both arms and that slowed me down a lot.
A
Andrew - you ripped your arms? holy crap...
yeah Ron, i ripped my legs too. tough wod
I cannot make it in today. Conference calls at lunch (the nerve!) and a dinner meeting, that was not planned, have conspired against me.
Glad to see that tumbling will be monthly - I will be one of those who really needs the help and will also provide entertainment all around via Leo's wonderful video work : )
Also - love the article posted today. I've been referred to as "someone who buys into conspiracy theory" with regard to the government and the soy, wheat and big pharma industries - the latter for another discussion. However, it is quite amazing that the general public in the US CONTINUES to buy processed foods as the bulk of their diet with the hopes of eating heathy, trying to lose weight, whatever all the while getting FATTER and SICKER. The fact of the matter is if it didn't grow out of the ground or if it doesn't run or swim you shouldn't eat it. If you can't pronounce it, or don't know what 'it' is, you shouldn't eat it. The marketing of crappy processed and sugar laden products as healthy because they are "fortified" is ridiculous. Any new scientific study that comes out pertaining to vitamins and supplements, like fiber, omege 3's, good fats is quickly to be placed into some twisted format in a processed food - marketed as if it is healthy - and being sold to consumers who are more than willing to line up to "eat healthy" and fast out of a box or a drive thru. People readily believe the government directives about nutrition and health only to their own demise and run to the doctor when something goes wrong. "I don't understand, I eat right (uh, yeah...) and I exercise (again, really?) I don't understand why I have high cholesterol, my joints ache at 35, I have acid reflux, etc. Gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, type II diabetes, inflammatory diseases are all, for the most part due to what people are putting in their mouths and the government and the big processed food industries don't care about the contradictions or the little white lies that are being passed around. Case in point - I am in school to get an MS in Nutrition. Still going back and forth about it because I cannot stand the contradictions regarding ADA, the AMA, and the USDA and what we should be eating and what they expect credentialed registered dietitians to promote. My basic nutrition text went on and on about lactose intolerance (and how you can and should still have dairy!) and about the scientific fact that at birth humans have all the enzymes needed to break down lactose - obviously because babies and growing children need milk. However, by the time we reach adolescence we only have 5 - 10% of the enzyme activity we had at birth - because we don't need dairy after a certain point in life. What is the milk industry's line, "milk does a body good?" yes, if you are 1.....why then is this slogan promoted with actors and models as if that is the only way to get calcium. And then there is the fact that most nutritionists do no promote supplements because you can get all you need from your food - well, yes, but the right food. They promote fortified starchy breads and pastas but then turn around and say that healthy people with a well balanced diet don't need supplements - but isn't the starch itself supplemented? The ridiculousness of the 'fattening of America' and its dependency on the government for direction is really sad. Eat real food and get off your butt. That doesn't take too much intellect or know how to follow.

Sorry I missed this one. I was in Gainesville for a conference and stopped by Gator Crossfit this morning for a workout. It was the two things I hate most: thrusters and burpees.
