Kristin having fun! Having the ability & courage to move your own body in ways not thought possible before always puts a smile of satisfaction & self respect on one's face. Let's hone & develop that ability as we move along, not let it go to waste!

Subs -
a. 1x Jumping Muscle Up + 2x CTB Pull-ups per MU (Jumping muscle up must have a jump to the bottom of the dip & full dip from the bottom to a lockout to qualify)
b. 3x Pull-up (or asst pull-ups/band pull-ups) & 3x Dips/Bar Dips
c. Squat snatch - sub Hang squat snatch or hang power snatch or power snatch depending on ability. Power Snatch + Overhead squat will be the most common sub for that.
This is going to be a fun one.
By the way - do we have any Poker players in our gym?
Texas Hold'em to be specific.
I play a little bit. Whats the load for the squat snatch
this workout is going to be a beater. i really dont play poker but it will be an easy way to take my money if we do play, that will be fun for everyone else....
how did andrew do? Im excited to hear about it.
r
I'm in for some Hold 'Em.
I'll play some poker. I was actually talking to Ramzi this week about having some people over for poker. I am a below average player but enjoy playing. I'd be happy to go play somewhere and I would be happy to offer my house as a location as well. Either way I'm in, I'm going to resist the poker joke.
Btw, I now know Rob O is hooked on crossfitevo. He on vacation out of state and still checked the blog. I knew you were hooked Rob, thanks for the confirmation.
Hooked or Whipped?
Interesting GOATS. Depending on the load for the squat snatch this could be interesting. I'm guessing 95#. 135# would be disgusting...
Monique, I have changed my travel plans and am now flying out to Minneapolis Monday morning and will be gone for five weeks. =( I'm going to miss the gym and everyone in it, but I'll try to keep up with the workouts as best as improvisation will allow me. I'll be sure to ask Sam if I need any help with my on-the-road CrossFitting. ;) See you all when I get back.
Chris - no prescribed load for the squat snatch. Anything that's moderately heavy, but the emphasis is in technique. 65-135 will be the load for most guys.
Scott - cool. How's your schedule looks like Sat, July 11th? I was thinking of having a bike ride in the morning & poker night that day.
I love Texas Hold'em. Guys who I used to play with always called my style - "friendly".
Sean - 135 would be nasty!
Ramzi - he did well, he moves good, he needs now to become a bit more athletic & gain another 30 lbs to get to 230-240. He's young & agile. It's a possibility he'll get a scholarship from a college to go and play for them while he's bulking up & improving.
Katie- see you when you get back. Have fun and travel safe.
I prefer blackjack myself. Love it!!
I spoke to my P.O. She said Saturday the 11th is clear, I'm guessing you were planning a night event. I live just off of 46A and I-4 (Lake Mary/Sanford area). This an open invite to the gym, the more the better. We can set up several tables and run a tourney if enought people want to play. Leo/Monique - just give me an approx headcount later next week so I know what I'm in for.
Leo - I'm coming to the 6 today but wanted to know if I show up around 5:30 can I go back in the corner and work on the drills we did last week w/ the Green box and some 10's?? I think if I ease into the overhead squat then I can do it in the workout w/ something heavier then a broomstick.
Scott - yeah, come in and practice. Talk to you tonight.
I can't wait to get into the gym, even though I was there Saturday, I find myself here on Monday feeling as though I havent been to the gym in forever...
Ron M. it's called "Whipped"
I myself am a Metcon junkie - the longer and heavier the WOD the better.
4 round as Rx'd almost had number 5 ran out of time. Had trouble maintaining false grip with my leaking sweat.
4 rounds Rx'ed.... was one muscle up away from 5 rounds... but like Chris I was so sweaty I could not grip the rings!
Good Work-Out, see you tomorrow!
2 rounds Rx
3 rounds. kpu's, training bar, jpu's, [[ for dips.
Anybody play Go Fish?
5 rnds, JMU + CTB, 53lbs (a big improvement fom the broomstick last week)
Sean and Ron - you can't be p- whipped, you got to whip that p-, you gotta coordinate your WOD
:), who am I kidding, I'm whipped to, dreaming about the next days WOD while I sleep, I wake up at 3 AM ready to bust some ass and I'm loving every minute. See you tomorrow, I'm off to contemplate tomorrows WOD for the next 8 hrs, if only I could throw up the wieghts in the gym the way I do in my sleep, Big Will would be scared
3 rounds Rx. Took about 5 attempts to get that last muscle-up.
2 rounds
OHS @ 95# felt really good. Shoulders feel stronger.
Jumping ring dips were tough to catch and dip out of. I kept floating towards Paul when I was in the air. I am beginning to enjoy the GOAT WODS.
2 rounds - training bar, 9 X JPU's + 9 X partial dips.
After resting, I worked on my pull-ups afterward on the climbing bar, finishing the protocol with max blue band pull-ups.
Ooo my shoulders didn't like this one. 3 rounds. One set of [[ away from 4! See you guys tonight =]
Renee I totally play Go Fish.
I am indeed whipped by CrossFit...the Koolaid is delicious...
so how fun was that WOD?
3 rounds of very non-RX for me...
